Courtside Announces Elevated Club Team Platform and Enhanced Evaluation Process for 2024 // January Pre-Tryout Open Run Clinics + February Official Tryouts

Dallas / Ft. Worth – Jan. 17, 2023 - Courtside 360 is excited to announce enhancements to its evaluation process, and more resources, support, and player development opportunities for Courtside United Basketball Club’s 2024 teams.

Notable additions to the 2024 club team platform consist of Middle School Elite and High School Circuit Teams, more NCAA Live Period tournaments, new coaches and trainers, multiple gyms for increased practice time and dedicated training sessions, a new strength & agility program, Greenlight Shooting Series, monthly full program workshops, media and apparel packages, community service initiatives, and FREE registration to all Clinics and Camps (10 events in 2024)!

In an effort to provide both the athlete and Courtside more time and opportunities during the evaluation process, we’ve expanded programming and extended the tryout window to a 6-day skills and competition format through the addition of Pre-Tryout Clinics and Open Runs prior to Official Tryouts.

PRE-TRYOUT OPEN RUN CLINICS ARE FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN TRYING OUT FOR COURTSIDE UNITED BASKETBALL CLUB’S 2024 SPRING / SUMMER SEASON

Pre-tryout Open Run Clinics will be held on January 27th and 28th. Pre-tryout Clinics are a great way for athletes to learn more about Courtside, meet coaches, compete against other prospects in structured game-like scrimmages and skill-focused drills, and show Courtside your game early in the evaluation process before official player selections occur during February’s official tryouts.

No-Contact ‘Skills-Training-Only’ option available for High School athletes still in-season

Pre-tryout Clinics include skills that will be assessed during tryouts including IQ, agility, defense, shooting, ball handling, coachability, team-play, and competitive edge. These clinics consist of a more intimate environment and provide athletes a chance to make a great first impression while competing in an atmosphere with less pressure than official tryouts.

If you intend on trying out for our club teams, these Open Run Clinics are for you!

Due to the large number of prospects at tryouts and limited amount of time to evaluate every participant, we highly encourage all athletes to attend as many Pre-tryout Clinics as possible – players new to the program and those club members returning. Not only do these clinics help players feel more comfortable, confident, and prepare them for tryouts, they also provide Courtside 360 a more comprehensive analysis of your game, and aid the club in making the most informed decisions possible while increasing players’ opportunity with the program.

Get on Courtside’s radar early!

Courtside’s 2024 Player Development Program
A 3 or 5-month program (pending season - spring, summer, spring & summer) focused on Individual Player and Team Development through Tournament Competition, League Play, Team Workshops, Private Training, Skills Clinics & Camps, Shooting Series - all led by certified coaches and athletes with college / pro playing experience.

Team Divisions

Courtside United Basketball Club provides three divisional team programs – Developmental, Competitive, and Elite. Players selected will be placed on one of these teams. Through year-around programs, Courtside offers athletes of all skill level development opportunities at the Rec level through League Play in addition to our Competitive and Elite Tournament Team Divisions. We believe in quality over quantity in relation to the number of tournaments that teams participate in, and are more concerned about the development of each player on the roster than team rankings. For Middle School / High School Elite Divisions – platform, exposure, and recruitment is key.

Regardless of Team Division – Player Development is our focus!

League Play Teams: (3rd grade-10th grade) These teams are for beginner to intermediate level players who seek development with fundamental skills, and have 0-2 yrs. playing experience mostly in recreational leagues with no significant exposure to competitive tournaments. Tryouts focus on fundamental skills. Developmental teams compete in local League Play.

Competitive Tournament Teams: (3rd grade-11th grade) Players trying out for a competitive tournament team should already have a strong grasp of all fundamentals and 3-5 yrs. tournament experience. Although we always teach essential foundational skills, athletes seeking placement on these teams should expect tryouts to include a larger focus on athleticism, IQ, and ability to read/react during live action play. Competitive teams compete in DFW area tournaments.

Elite Tournament Teams: (13u, 14u, 15u, 16u, 17u) Only a select group of players considered. Players must have multiple yrs. of high-level experience competing in school and AAU against Elite competition in tournaments, showcases, and certified NCAA Live Period events. Players should be ALL-IN - fully dedicated and committed to practice, training, and tournament play. Elite teams compete in DFW area tournaments and may include travel events.
